The name derives from the stone tower constructed among the vineyards at the highest point of the farm, where Gigiotto di Rocca d’Orcia, back from the Napoleonic wars, protected the ripening grapes against the bandits that roamed Tuscany in that time. Around the tower, at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level with south-southwest exposure, are the vineyards which bear the grapes for Guardiavigna. After years as an “amatore” of fine Bordeaux, Pasquale Forte wanted to offer to the world
his interpretation of this beloved grape, and thus was born Guardiavigna, elegant, harmonious and well structured, in which you can smell both the Tuscan fragances and sunshine.
