The antique name for this splendid farm lends its name to this wine, produced entirely from Sangiovese grapes, from vineyards at an altitude of 400-500 meters above sea level with southwest exposure. The hundreds of acres of the Petrucci farm dominated the Val d’Orcia from the Rennaissance; generations of men and women lived off the produce of its land.
Here, tangled around a centuries-old oak tree, we found a vine of that Sangiovese that had grown for centuries in the soil of these hills, under the sun and rain of innumerable seasons, forgotten for decades, and then reborn thanks to our work, as the father of the vines that produce the grapes for our great Petrucci.
